This is a commissioned piece done for Vice President Dick Cheney. The scene depicts his great grandfather Samuel Fletcher Cheney at Chickaumaga Creek, during the battle that took place there in Sept 1863. He was a captain in the 21st Ohio Infantry and was on staff during the battle.
